A Hospital

The word hospital comes from the Latin hospes, signifying a stranger or foreigner, hence a guest. Another noun derived from this, hospitium came to signify hospitality that is the relation between guest and shelterer. It is a health care institution providing patient treatment by specialized staff and equipment. Some patients go to a hospital just for diagnosis, treatment, or therapy and then leave without staying overnight; while others are 'admitted' and stay overnight or for several days or weeks or months. A district hospital typically is the major health care facility in its region, with large numbers of beds for intensive care and long-term care. A hospital may be a single building or a number of buildings on a campus. A teaching hospital combines assistance to patients with teaching to medical students and nurses and often is linked to a medical school, nursing school or university.

Natural Calamities in Bangladesh

Natural Calamities In Bangladesh

Bangladesh is often called a land of natural calamities. Flood, cyclone, storm, heavy downpour, drought often visit our country. People here work and live, fighting against recurring natural calamities. Bangladesh lies in the tropical region and its land is low. Almost every year cyclone or storm hits our country in summer or in the late autumn. The havoc caused by the cyclone is beyond description. Almost everything that comes within its sweep is destroyed or carried away. Houses and buildings are blow down, giant trees are uprooted. Drought in summer causes damage to crops almost every year. The system of irrigation is not adequately developed in our country. Torrential rains and rush of water from the upper north bring about flood almost every year. The rivers overflow their banks. Fields of crops go under water.  The floods in 1974,1987 and 1988 caused a huge loss of life and property. On all occasion flood water reached up to the top of houses. People took shelter on tree tops, railway lines. Hundreds of people turned homeless and shelter less and became and became hungry humanity. Our people live fighting against all kinds of disaster and calamity. But they cannot do much against natural calamities. They can only make up the loss when the intensity of the disaster is over. This is the hard lot of our people.

How to be a good student

Becoming a good student needs regular studies. First you should go to school regularly and listen to the teachers attentively. You must need to prepare very well for the exam. You should not neglect your studies at the beginning of the school term. Then you should understand what you read. Next you should make your own notes yourself and revise them frequently. After that you should have a fairly good command over the language. Finally you should enrich your knowledge.  You should read all the books throughout the year. I advise you to obey the teachers, carry out their orders and follow their instructions.

Paragraph

Independence Day

The 26th march, 1971 on which the independence of Bangladesh was declared, is regarded as our Independence Day. It is a red letter day in our national life. The barbarous Pak Army lanced an inhuman attack on the innocent and the peace loving citizens of Bangladesh on the 25th march, 1971. They killed thousands of men and women and raped innumerable women.  They also killed hundreds of intellectuals of the country. Sheikh Mujib was taken to unknown place of West Pakistan. The Bangladeshis realized their actual position when Bangladesh was declared on the 26th March, 1971. After nine months struggle Bangladesh emerged as an independent State. On this day we pay rich tribute to the memory of the martyrs who laid their lives for the sake of our Independence. Every year the day is celebrated in the country with great enthusiasm and fervour. It is a national holiday. All offices, educational institutions, shops and factories remain closed on this day. The national flag is hoisted on the top of each house and office. In the evening, all major public buildings are illuminated with colourful lights. It is a cheerful day in the history of Bangladesh. The 26th March will be remembered forever as the Independence Day in the history of Bangladesh.

Mobile Phone

Mobile Phone
Science has made impossible things to possible. It has brought the world to our reach. Mobile phone is one of the amazing inventions of science. Before mobile was invited, communication and messaging system was very hard. But Mobile has now lessened the distance of the world. It is such a cordless phone by which we can communicate and talk to others immediately. It has made our day to day life easier and more comfortable. Everyone can bear it with him because it is small in size. It is an interesting matter that nowadays messaging and internet system have been included in it. In our country Grameen, City cell, Robi, Banglalink, and Teli talk Companies provide us with mobile facilities. A Mobile Phone has both merits and demerits. It harms our brain when we talk through it. The excessive use of Mobile Phone often causes fatal disease like brain tumer , canser etc. So we should be conscious in using it. Though it has some demerits, it is truly a blessing for our civilization.
